Tip of the Month |
| How to Make Small Spaces Appear Larger |
- Hang curtains high, near where the walls meet the ceiling.
- In rooms with low ceilings, use a wallcovering with vertical lines to create the illusion of height.
- Install a floor-to-ceiling bookcase.
- Remove moldings, chair rails and baseboards if your ceilings are low.
- Introduce a florid, densely-colored rug.
- Hang an oversize painting or large photo in a small space.
- For window treatments, choose tailored solid curtains or crisp Roman shades.
- Mirrored walls and screens give the illusion of space.
